Electrostatic Discharge Protection Devices

Tyco Electronics offers a broad line of electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection devices designed to help shunt ESD away from sensitive circuitry and improve the reliability of electronic devices. The latest addition to the product line is the Silicon ESD (SESD) series. Available in the industry’s smallest 0201 chip scale package (CSP), SESD devices feature bi-directional technology and ultra-low capacitance - down to 0.6pF (picofarad). Suitable for small portable electronics applications, they help protect sensitive integrated circuits (ICs).

Tyco Electronics’ SESD series devices are used to help protect mobile phones, portable electronics, LCD and plasma TVs, HDMI 1.3 / 1.4, USB 2.0 / 3.0, DisplayPort, and other high-speed digital or low-voltage antenna interfaces. They provide low capacitance and performance against IEC61000-4-2, level 4 testing, especially after multiple hits (up to 1000) and offer a lower trigger voltage and a lower clamping voltage than typical polymer ESD devices.
