Data Line Port Protection
Problem: Short-circuit protection
The CCP (customer convenience port) transfers signal and power can be altered when a downstream device is shorted or damaged. This may happen when a damaged cable or connector is plugged into the port.
|
| |
|
Solution: PolySwitch devices.
To help avoid permanently damaging the CCP, effective and reliable protection is needed. PolySwitch devices protect against overcurrent or overtemperature by limiting the flow of current in the dataline circuit.

Problem: Electrostatic Discharge (ESD)
An Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can result in either catastrophic or latent damage of the equipment.
|
| |
|
Solution: PESD
Extremely low capacitance ESD protection devices (PESD) help shunt ESD away from sensitive circuitry in electronic devices without inducing signal distortion. PESD, which is a low capacitance (typically 0.25pF) ESD protection device, is capable of withstanding numerous ESD transients, and is a RoHS & IEC61000-4-2 compliant device having low leakage current and low clamping voltage.
